Here are the curtains I was telling you about. At $89-$129/panel, they’re a steal. You can probably get less expensive rods at BBB, but the quality of the fabric is important or they wont hang nicely. If you don’t want to do the double-rod with sheers, you could get a very sheer window shade that fits inside the window, it will keep that area looking clean and unfussy.

Could never live in a room like this, but I’d appreciate it in someone else’s house.

Throw pillows are a great, non-committal way to add a punch of color to a room. I saw these at Crate and Barrel and thought the cost-to-quality ratio was great.
Green ones will always work, since they’ll pick up the greenery outside, but black can also instantly make a room look polished and put together. If you only need a few, I say go with 2-3 black ones. If you need more like 5, I say go with 3 gray and 2 of an accent color like purple, green, or orange.

Fun and bright contact paper can help brighten up your kitchen. It’s a pain in the butt, but it’s a really good activity/job task to give to friends who want to help you move in, but can’t really read your mind and know where you want your stuff to go. Just make sure the friends are the anal kind who will measure perfectly, and don’t start bribing them with wine/cocktails until they’re done:)

Top, stripes.
Bottom, coffee and tea.

Other options:
Stainless steel.
Black and white.
Black and white toile.
Really pretty green pattern that doesn’t match your kitchen, but who cares because it could still be lots of fun.
Red cherries.
Fun Anthro flowers.
Polka dots.

Bedroom window treatment option.
Depending on how you style your bedroom, this could give you the right amount of light/privacy in your bedroom window. Once you know your color palette, you can get curtains in that color and place them around the window to look more finished and provide total privacy.

Fireplace.
I like the idea of the chair and low table facing into the room.

Option for to the left of the fireplace. I like the grouping of unusual objects as wall art.

Living Room.
I like the idea of the two-tone patterned rug (good for hiding dirt) and the bright accent pillows, which you can easily switch out if you get sick of the color.
